But fear not because Sansa did get a throne! She abstained from voting in favour of Bran as king and preferred to rule the North independently. This was disappointing news as many were rooting for Sansa to take over the Iron Throne. While fans have spent years debating who is going to be the one to sit on the highly coveted Iron Throne at the end of the series, viewers were in for a shocking twist when that person ended up being Bran ‘The Broken’ Stark.
With no monarch left, then came the question of who would rule over Westeros. He bade farewell to his family and headed towards the North where he is reunited with Tormund, Ghost and other wildings who he accompanied to the North of the Wall, hopefully to live happily in freedom. Fans were highly disappointed with what happened next - Jon got sent into exile as a member of the Night’s Watch again. Jon quickly got imprisoned by Daenerys’ Master of War. But the final blow was a heart breaking moment for us all. We had been seeing Jon struggle with his loyalties for his Queen and knowing that she could not be the ruler of the seven kingdoms. The finale episode began with Daenerys having taken over Kings Landing and just as she was about to finally rest on the Iron Throne, her lover-turned-nephew Jon Snow pulled a dagger through a heart.
